The church is considered to be one of the most influential organizations in the world. With its beliefs and legends, it has convinced many to follow and join its cause. Christianity is a religion that has been around for as long as Jesus Christ was known about, suggesting that it has been here for centuries upon centuries. The church is famous when it comes to denying any religion and logical explanation for events as it clashes with their beliefs and understanding of things. This is what caused the church to gain its famous reputation worldwide. Logical explanations such as human evolution and the big bang theory are all theories that have been shot down by the significant hierarchies of the church. However, everything is capable of development, even the church. Compared to the ancient versions of the church, statistics and records show groundbreaking evidence that the church has evolved ever since the time it was first created.
A Theory of Evolution
There are many reasons as to why the church doesn’t believe any logical explanation of an event; however one of the most important ones is evolution. The reason why the church thought that evolution was untrue and a hoax is because it contradicted their understanding of God. This reason is that the Christians believed that the Bible’s Adam and Eve were the first humans to exist on earth. This is the reason why the human and animal evolution theory proposed by Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace was shut down, as it clashed with what the Christians believed. Now the church is willing to accept in the theories and tolerate them to some extent whereas, in older times, a person who believed in science would be referred to as a witch or a heretic.
The Different Groups of Christians
Throughout hundreds of years, different groups and types of Christians have appeared, each following a modified version of the Bible or following different customs. There are many forms or Christianity around the world, and each is examples of the evolution of the church. For example, the Peruvian version of the Inca religion included carting around mummified versions of ancestors around a town hall during an ancestor ceremony each year. But after the conquistadors, the ceremonies were interrupted, and the tradition continued, with statues of saints being carried around instead of the traditional mummies.
Another example of evolution in Christianity is the bible. The bible is a collection of books that document the religion of Christianity and the arrival of Christ. As many religious individuals and archaeologists know it, the Bible was a handwritten text and was written by a wide range of people. After years and years of passing the book from one person to another and documenting what they saw and how the encountered Jesus Christ, the book lost some of its quality causing minor complications to take place when it was used again. Not only was the bible written from the perspective of different people, but it was also written in a different dialect compared to that of what we use today. After the invention of the print press, the language was translated to a more modern style, English. Unfortunately, due to translating the dialect into a more familiar language, most of the meanings and words were changed or alternated, creating an entirely new interpretation of the Bible’s pages.
